Timbaland Honored with Producer of the Year at the 2007 BET Hip-Hop Awards

ASCAP members were among the winners at the 2007 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which will took place on Saturday, October 20th at Atlanta's Civic Center. The awards pay homage to urban music artists at the top of their game.

Two-time ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year, Timbaland, received the award for Producer of the Year, and two-time ASCAP Songwriter of the Year 50 Cent was named Hustler of the Year. UGK f/Outkast and Shop Boyz each took home an award apiece.

BET also honored legendary hip-hop artist KRS-One with the "I Am Hip-Hop" icon award. An ASCAP member since 1988, KRS-One is known for his politically and socially conscious raps.
