KING
..is a five person omniverse. An independent political
think tank. A street sweeping team. Founders of Cop
Stoppers Int'l, and a martial arts consortium. Citizen
King has broken more humans out of prison than any "radical"
organization -- and in only four years. Their names
are first on every black and guest list.
As public as any REAL fugitive or criminal, they play
shows for peanuts, singing in some kind of loose CcOoDDdEe.
Their music is both a reference and a signifier. Do
you "follow7quot;? Only real pain can be changed
through music, so if you aren't mad yet, go back to
Madonna's site. Don't bother with enlightenment if you
are here looking for ROCK* music. Or POP* or PUNK* or
HIPHOP* or POST* any damn thing. Continue to eat cheeseburgers,
show up on time, and forget to vote. Ask people what
"kind" of music this is.
We do not play the ROCK*. We do not play the HIPHOP*.
Nor the PUNK*.
Not POST-*whatever.
