Terms of Use Agreement for Online Works Registration

The ASCAP Online Works Registration (the "Web Page") has been launched to permit ASCAP members ("members") to register titles to their works in ASCAPís repertory on-line. By registering a work through this Web Page, you agree, as a member or an authorized agent of a member, that use of this Web Page is subject to the following Terms of Use Agreement.

Accuracy

YOU MUST CHECK TITLES AND ALL OTHER PORTIONS OF THE ON-LINE REGISTRATION FOR ACCURACY, AND ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THE COMPLETE AND ACCURATE TITLE FOR THE WORK TO BE REGISTERED.

You can continue to access your title registrations for a period of six months for viewing or revising. Titles that have been successfully registered and payment ready are removed from the Online Works Registration database. These titles will be available on ACE.

Errors and Omissions

ASCAP is not liable for any lost royalties, claims, costs, damages, or other expenses whatsoever relating to the omission of any portion of the title of the work or for any spelling or other errors within this online works registration. Users bear the risk of lost royalties for any work whose performance cannot be properly tracked by ASCAP due to such an omission or error.

Warranties and Representations

By registering a work through this Web Page, you warrant and represent the following:

  1. you are a member of ASCAP in good standing, or you are acting as a designated representative or authorized agent for an ASCAP member and the member is a member in good standing;
  2. the member who has an interest in the work that is being registered, has not registered an interest in the work with any other U.S. performance rights organization; and
  3. you have made no misrepresentations or other fraudulent statements in this registration, and you have no intention to benefit from the fraudulent registration of the work being registered.

This online works registration of titles with ASCAP is not equivalent to, nor is it a substitute for, copyright registration with the United States Copyright Office. For information on how to copyright your work, contact the Library of Congress Copyright Office:
