 From 1965 to the present, John L. Eastman has practiced law with Eastman and Eastman, attorneys. From 1975 to the present, he has also served as officer of MPL Communications, Inc., one of the largest of the independent music publishers. Based in New York and London, but with global concerns, MPL was established 25 years ago.
Among the catalogs MPL has secured are Nor Va Jak, which includes many of Buddy Holly's songs, Desilu Music Corp., Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball's company, Edwin H. Morris & Co., a very significant catalog of standards, Frank Music, a large body of songs including those by the great Frank Loesser, and others.
Eastman has also served as a Director of the National Music Publishers Association from 1995 to the present.
