ASCAP Composer James Newton Howard Honored by USC

On December 12th, 2012, the USC Thornton School of Music honored ASCAP composer James Newton Howard with the USC Thornton Legacy Award for Artistic Achievement at its annual Charles Dickens Holiday Dinner. The Emmy and Grammy-winning, eight-time Oscar nominee was honored for his long career of outstanding achievements, including film scores for The Hunger Games, The Dark Knight, Defiance, Michael Clayton, The Village, My Best Friend's Wedding, The Fugitive, The Prince of Tides and many more.

Thornton student and ASCAP composer Saad Haddad was also awarded the James Newton Howard Scholarship at the dinner.
