ASCAP songwriter/producer Paul Epworth added yet another trophy to his mantle on January 13th, 2013, when his song "Skyfall" was named Best Song at the Golden Globes. The song, co-written with and performed by his longtime collaborator Adele, was the theme song from the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall. "Skyfall" is one of the most hallowed songs from a film of 2012. In addition to the Golden Globe win, it also earned a Critics' Choice Award, and was nominated for an Oscar, a Brit Award and a Satellite Award. It is the first James Bond theme song in 30 years to be nominated for an Oscar.
This is the latest in a long line of accolades to result from Epworth's partnership with Adele. He earned four Grammys in 2012 for co-writing and producing her blockbuster album 21.
Congratulations to Paul Epworth on this phenomenal achievement, and best of luck on the rest of your nominations this awards season!
