ASCAP and Music Row came together to recognize the team behind the Curb Records’ Lee Brice chart-topper "Hard to Love" at a recent #1 Party at the CMA offices in Nashville. Songwriter Ben Glover celebrated his first country #1, along with fellow ASCAP member Kyle Jacobs, who produced the song.
Though “Hard to Love” marks Glover’s first trip to the top of the country charts, he has earned considerable acclaim in Contemporary Christian music. He was named ASCAP’s 2012 Christian Songwriter of the Year and has enjoyed a career total of 15 #1 songs on the Christian charts. “These guys are some of my dear friends,” he said of Brice, and co-writers John Ozier and Billy Montana. “That’s one of the cool things [about working as a songwriter] is working with your friends.”
