A co-presentation with Beijing New Music Ensemble, The Phoenix Concerts presented an evening of New York premieres of new works for piano trio headed up by ASCAP composer Gilda Lyons (who also expertly interwove the evening with narration). The concert, part of a series at The Church of St. Matthew and St. Timothy on West 84th Street near Central Park, also included works by a mix of Chinese and American composers that included ASCAP composers Daron Hagen, Wendy Wan-ki Lee and Eli Marshall. The Phoenix Concerts series continues on February 8th, 2013 with a program by the Voxare String Quartet presenting another notable series of New York premieres from ASCAP composers Nico Muhly, Mark Nowakowski and Daron Hagen; also included are arrangements for string quartet of works by Radiohead (PRS/ASCAP) and Led Zeppelin (ASCAP).
