The 11th Annual Americana Honors & Awards were held last night at the Ryman Auditorium, and ASCAP members were well-represented among nominees and winners. Among the big honorees of the night were ASCAP member Bonnie Raitt, who was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement for Performance Award, and the The Civil Wars who were named Duo/Group of the Year. ASCAP members Jakob Dylan and Sara Watkins were also on hand to present the Emerging Artist of the Year Award.
ASCAP Member Guy Clark was honored twice, previously with this year's This One's For Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark album - which coincided with his 70th birthday - and again last night when the album won Album of the Year. Dedicated to Clark's work, the tribute features many ASCAP members paying homage to his songs. Among them are Rodney Crowell, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Colvin, Ron Sexsmith, Rosie Flores, John Townes Van Zandt II, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Verlon Thompson, Radney Foster, Gary Nicholson, Darrell Scott, and Tim O Brien.
Congratulations to all our winners and nominees!
