NaSHOF 2012 Inductees Announced

Mary Chapin Carpenter

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation recently announced the 2012 inductees into its Hall of Fame, which included ASCAP honorees Tony Arata and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Arata was named in the Songwriter category and Carpenter was elected in the Songwriter/Artist category.

The new inductees will be welcomed into the elite songwriters community by their peers and leaders in the Nashville music community at the 42nd Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony on Sunday, October 7th at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.

Legendary songwriter Tony Arata’s credits include massive hits such as “The Dance,” recorded by Garth Brooks, and “Here I Am,” recorded by Patty Loveless. Songwriter-artist Mary Chapin Carpenter popularized many of her own songs, including chart-toppers like "Shut Up and Kiss Me," “Down at the Twist and Shout,” “I Feel Lucky” and more.
