The stars were shining the night of May 17th as the great and good of the music industry gathered to honor the nominees and winners of the prestigious Ivor Novello awards.
The annual awards show, presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music, is now in its 57th year. ASCAP Writer Vice Chairman Jimmy Webb was awarded the Special International Award. A packed audience at the Grosvenor House Hotel were treated to a video tribute of Webb’s musical life which included such hits as “Wichita Lineman,” “Galveston,” “MacArthur Park,” and “Up, Up and Away.” Webb spoke of his fondness for the United Kingdom and the songs he had written there.
