On September 25, 2008, ASCAP hosted a seminar in our New York Offices titled Thinking Green In the Music Business. Sponsored by ShoreFire www.shorefire.com, The American Association of Independent Music www.a2im.org (A2IM)and ASCAP, the event served as an educational brainstorming session on the topic of improving the music industry's impact on the environment. The seminar was led by Stefan Doering www.beunreasonable.com, a business coach, Columbia University instructor with the Center for Environmental Research and Conservation and a sustainability expert who has worked with many companies to help them achieve their environmental goals. Stefan Doering led the group in a discussion of environmentally friendly solutions to music industry challenges such as Promotional Materials, Touring, Packaging, and Office Consumption. Resources from the seminar are available in the Career Development section. For more information on ASCAP Members taking action for the environment, visit ASCAP's Green Room.
