Every great songwriter has to find a unique voice. Tom Freund has made an entire career out of sounding exactly like himself. We asked him about two crucial tasks for every songwriter developing a voice: working through your musical influences, and writing lyrics that are crafty but effortless.

Geared toward advanced songwriters, the Workshop is designed to enrich participants' knowledge of the industry, help them establish contacts and confidence and expand their collaborative partnerships. The Workshop takes place at ASCAP’s LA office beginning in November. Submission deadline is October 10th.
